Welcome to the Breastfeeding CHAMPS Research Study

What is the Breastfeeding, Child Health and Mammary Permeability Study?

The Breastfeeding CHAMPS project focuses on mother and baby health and is funded by the US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Our goal is to assess if low milk supply is linked to permeability in the epithelial lining of the breast milk ducts. We are interested in following the established lactation period that begins when the infant is seven days old up to one year of age.

Why we need you?

We need families who are currently pregnant to join our study. You can help other new parents and newborns by participating. We seek to gather information about the factors that affect a parent’s milk supply and how the contents of the milk affect the babies.
